From April 15, 2013- July 14, 2013 I was on sabbatical from Hope Lutheran Church in Selden, NY.

My sabbatical had three separate parts:

  1. A month visiting local ministry settings of the Church of England.
  2. A cross-country journey to visit in Pittsburgh, PA, the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa, and the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California.
  3. A two-week visit in the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota including a stay at Luther Seminary, St. Paul.

While I was on sabbatical in England I visited ten dioceses:

  • St. Albans
  • Peterborough
  • Norwich
  • Lincoln
  • Coventry (the Local Ministry Network Conference)
  • Gloucester
  • Hereford
  • Chester
  • Liverpool and
  • Oxford

In the United States I visited with Ministry Teams at the Pittsburgh Lutheran United Ministries, Sioux Falls

   and Iowa City, and Sacramento.

In my trip to Minnesota I attended a Total Ministry Team Workshop sponsored by the Diocese of Minnesota.

After the sabbatical I put together a presentation describing five types of Shared Ministry formats

   I observed on my journey.
